Pack your bags, Graspers, it’s time for the ultimate South African adventure! From conquering Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain and braving the world’s highest bungee jump, to horseback riding alongside wild animals, exploring mysterious caves, and chilling in our very own castle and beachfront villa, this trip has it all. Think adrenaline by day and comfort by night: no camping, no roughing it, just the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. For nine days we’ll hike, laugh, swim, dance, and share once-in-a-lifetime moments together, all while soaking in the epic landscapes of South Africa and creating the kind of memories you’ll still be telling stories about years down the line.
WHY VENTURE SOUTH AFRICA WITH GRASP THE ADVENTURE:
We've got countless reasons but here are some:
At Grasp The Adventure, our mission has always been to ignite a love for the outdoors, inspire bold exploration, and create bonds as powerful as the mountains we hike together. We don’t just travel, we connect, laugh, and grow as a family. This is exactly the kind of journey we’re inviting you on. Beyond the castles, caves, and coastlines of South Africa, you’ll find friendships that run as deep as the forests we explore and memories as wild as the safaris we ride through. Whether we’re heaving, panting, and sweating up Table Mountain, plunging off the world’s highest bungee bridge, or swapping stories and silly games in our beachfront villa, this trip is as much about people as it is about place.
This adventure isn’t just about ticking off activities, it’s about reconnecting with nature, with yourself, and with others who share the same adventurous spirit. We’ll horseback ride through sprawling reserves, hike inside ancient caves, and get up close with elephants, lions, and cheetahs. We’ll stay in unique and comfortable accommodations, from a fairytale-like castle in Knysna to a private villa overlooking the ocean, and bond over stories, laughter, and meals that will have you licking your fingers. The activities we’ve chosen will spark pride and excitement, but they’re accessible for anyone with a moderate fitness level. If you’re unsure about your readiness, reach out, we can send you a simple fitness test and even a plan to help you prepare.
And while adventure is at the heart of this trip, it’s only the beginning. We’ll chase waterfalls in canyons, tube down rivers surrounded by lush forests, wander vibrant towns, and watch penguins waddle along the beaches of Cape Town. A foodie? South Africa will spoil you with flavor, every stop brings a new chance to savor mouthwatering dishes, from vibrant local specialties to indulgent dinners by the water. And the best part? We’ve got you fully covered with three delicious meals a day included in the itinerary. Every day brings a new kind of thrill, some peaceful, some heart-racing, all adding up to a journey that’s as diverse as it is unforgettable.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town at your own time although we recommend getting there early enough to explore the city a little. In the evening, we will head to one of the most delicious restaurants on the V&A Waterfront for a three-course meal; this will be our first introduction to the delightful South African cuisine.
Day 2: Table Mountain & Optional Shark Diving
For those who opt for Shark Cage Diving (this activity is optional and not included in the price of the trip. You can choose between seeing the sharks from the boat or entering the cage and diving with them) you will be picked up from the hotel after an early breakfast for this thrilling tour. Next, we head to the staple of Cape Town, Table Mountain. It is a 3–4-hour hike to the top of Table Mountain. Once at the top, you can grab a coffee and enjoy the stunning views. From here, you can opt to abseil off the summit (this activity is optional and not included in the price of the trip. The abseil is off the top of Table Mountain at an altitude of 1000 meters. You will abseil down for 200 meters and then take a 30 min–1 hour scenic hiking route back to the summit). Next, we take the cable car back down to the city and enjoy the rest of the afternoon exploring as you want. In the evening, we head to V&A Waterfront to enjoy dinner and some awesome street performances.
Day 3: Horseback Safari
After an early breakfast, we make our way to Botlierskop Game Reserve. The drive takes around 4–5 hours, but it’s worth every minute as we arrive for 3 hours of unforgettable horseback safari where we get up close and personal with countless animals including most of the famous Big Five. From there, we continue to Knysna where we’ll have dinner at the waterfront with stunning views of the lagoon engulfed with green mountains. Tonight, we check into our castle for the first of two magical nights.
Day 4: Stormsrivier Adrenaline
From our castle base, we head out in the morning to Stormsrivier for a day packed with action. First up is our canopy ziplining tour, followed by the chance to freefall 216 meters as you step off the highest bridge bungee jump in the world (this activity is optional and not included in the price of the trip). Afterwards, we’ll visit the Elephant Sanctuary where you’ll learn about elephants, their habitats, and even get the chance to walk one by its trunk. We then return to the castle where we’ll have time to relax and enjoy our second night.
Day 5: Canyon & Wildlife → Wilderness Beach Villa
We say goodbye to the castle after breakfast and make our way to the canyon for an adventurous morning of abseiling, cliff diving, ziplining, swimming, and hiking. Afterwards, we’ll head to the Tenikwa Wildlife Center to learn about South Africa’s wild cats. Once we’re done, we’ll drive towards Wilderness where we’ll check into our private beachside villa for the first of two nights. Dinner will be at the villa, with the ocean as our backdrop.
Day 6: Caves, Ostriches & Wilderness Beach Sunset
After breakfast, we drive to Cango for an unforgettable 2-hour hike inside one of the largest accessible caves in the world. This cave hike involves squeezing into very tight spaces and traversing through holes and dark spaces so if you’re claustrophobic, let us know and we’ll make sure to book you an option that best suits you. Once we’re done, we head to an ostrich farm where you’ll learn about ostriches and their gigantic indestructible eggs. If they like you, they’ll give you a special neck massage and if they really like you, you might even get your first kiss… from an ostrich. We then return to our villa in Wilderness in time to relax by the pool, enjoy the sunset, and share another cozy evening together.
Day 7: Wilderness Beach → Cape Town
We’ll have the morning and early afternoon to chill at our beachside villa where we can swim, play games, or brave the waves in the ocean. At around 2–3 pm, we begin our 4–5 hour drive back to Cape Town. Once we arrive, we’ll head to the V&A Waterfront for dinner before calling it a night at our Cape Town hotel.
Day 8: Lion’s Head & Cape Peninsula
If you have the energy to wake up, you can join us as we hike to the top of Lion’s Head for some awesome sunrise views of Camp’s Bay and the surrounding beaches. Otherwise, you can choose to lie in, and we’ll pick you up once we’re done. We’ll have breakfast at Camp’s Bay and then drive around the peninsula to visit some of Cape Town’s surrounding, picturesque, historical towns, Cape Point where we’ll witness the meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, and then Boulder’s Beach to befriend some African penguins… not really befriend, they’re surprisingly aggressive. After returning to our hotel for a refreshing shower and short rest, we head to a traditional South African restaurant for our farewell dinner with some live performances.
Day 9: Departure
It is time to say goodbye. After a week of grasping endless adventures together, we are now bonded by the mountains that we hiked, and the stories that we share. We bid our Grasper family goodbye as each one heads back home.
